B. Background

Qualifications:
> Degree in product or industrial design from accredited institution
> Minimum of 5 years employment in product development
> Demonstrated proficiency using 2D and 3D CAID tools (such as ,but not limited to, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Rhino)
> Must have very good writing and speaking skills in both English and Cantonese or Mandarin
> Willingness to travel daily, Monday through Friday, to design studio in Ping Shan, Shenzhen,
> Pro/E experience is a plus! (we have ISDX)
Position Description:
The candidate will perform his/her duties as a part of a dedicated team of product development members including design, engineering (electrical and mechanical), and production experts. The candidate will report to the general manager of new product development. Responsibilities to include:
> Product planning and strategy input/brainstorming
> Proposal assistance (consulted for input as new product development proposals are generated for client review)
> Generation of product design concepts using both hand-drawn sketches and computer generated tools in both 2D and 3D.
> Generation of presentation materials for Client delivery
>Internal presentation of concepts to New Product Development team

Job Responsibilities
* Responsible for collaborating with Product Development Team
* You will develop items that compliment and extend the company brand by creating original concepts in style and color and by interpreting fashion trends.
* You have to produce sketches and make seasonal presentations of proposed designs
* You will also produce own tech pack for designs
* The Designer works in partnership with merchandising, sourcing and materials development
* Assist in the development of the complete concept for the season and adapt it appropriately to the individual merchandise areas as assigned
* Partner with Production and Sourcing to design merchandise that fits within the costing parameters and target customer profile of the brand strategy
* Develop customer intimacy by spending time in the stores
* Review the line plan with the merchants and agree on overall direction and content of the line for a season
* Create designs based on merchant line plan and incorporate feedback for finalization
* Present line to merchants in sample form at meetings
* Participate in collection hindsight after exit of each collection
* Attend trade shows as directed to gain insight into future trend
Job Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience
* Highly collaborative interpersonal working style with background in working the merchant-design Interface
* A minimum of 5 years related experience in design
* Highly creative and innovative with strong fashion sense
* Sound understanding of materials and costs
* Ability to create tech packs
